Run-12. 2010 - Phnom Penh, Cambodia
Phnom Penh
again played host for MIH XII. Runners were transported to the run
site on a large vehicle ferryboat. The Mekong Hashers enjoyed a
pleasant run around fields and villages before reboarding the boat
back to Phnom Penh. The Circle was held on the boat, which may have
sounded like a good idea when it was mooted but the noise of the
engines and the available space made it somewhat shambolic.
Sunday’s run saw Hashers being transported to the run site in the
rear of many trucks, all the better to get some extra exposure to
the sun as if any was needed. The run finished near a go-kart track
where there were lots of nice pools for people to relax in. As so
often happens on the MIH, the Sunday post-run celebrations became
somewhat extended and An Ice Bitch aka A Nice Bitch was enjoying her
time on the ice so much that she left it way too late to get to the
airport and missed her flight. Oops!
Anyone staying for the Full Moon Run 2˝ on Monday were transported
over the river to Snowy’s Bar, a legend in its own lifetime. Snowy
was not a Hasher but, after the night’s entertainments in his bar,
he wished he had been! The run was somewhat limited in length by the
available territory, although nobody complained about the Circle:Run
ratio of at least 2:1.
